DMCA and Copyright

The prices here are U.S. government data in the public domain. If you believe something on this site infringes your copyright, write to us and we will look at it.

What this site publishes

  • EIA data: the weekly heating oil and propane prices come from the U.S. Energy Information Administration. U.S. government works are not subject to copyright in the United States, and EIA asks only for attribution. Source: EIA Heating Oil and Propane Update.
  • Our own work: the page text, tables, charts, calculators and design are written and built by us.
  • No user uploads: the only thing visitors send is a contact message or an email address for a plan. Neither is published on the site.

Send a takedown notice

Write to email support@heatingoilprices.site with the subject “DMCA notice” and include all of the following, so we can act without a round of questions:

  1. Your name, address, telephone number and email address.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you say is infringed.
  3. The exact URL on this site of the material you want removed.
  4. A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
  5. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act for them.
  6. Your physical or electronic signature.

We remove or disable access to material that a valid notice identifies, and we may tell the person who supplied it. If you are not sure whether something is infringing, a short message first is usually faster than a formal notice.

Counter-notice

If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake, send a counter-notice to the same address with the same six items, plus a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district and will accept service from the person who sent the notice. We may restore the material after the statutory waiting period.

Other complaints

A number that looks wrong is not a copyright matter: write to us with the area and date and we will check it against EIA. See about the data and contact.
